HISTORY

The Barcelona Font del Mont Residents Association currently has 95 years of history. It was set up in Barcelona in September 1926 with the aim of defending the rights and interests of all residents and owners in order to obtain improvements for the neighborhood.

The urbanization of the neighborhood of Font del Mont, despite belonging to the neighborhood of Sarrià-Sant Gervasi was initially called "Ideal Vallvidrera" for its proximity to Vallvidrera and for being located on the sea side of the Sierra de Collserola , next to the Carretera de les Aigües, in the middle of nature, between forests and vegetation, and with splendid views of the city of Barcelona.

In 1942 the Association already had a sports section with its own "handball" team. Later, the Association also created its own flag, anthem and logo (a pet that is an emblematic squirrel, popularly called "Quirol"), as well as the magazine "quirol / notícies" (1995-2011).

In 1971 the Assembly decided to change the name of the Association, which became known as "Association of Owners and Neighbors of the Font del Mont Vallvidrera" in honor of its emblematic fountain that gives us the precious good of the water, and offers us its tranquility and serenity.

In 1987, theater was performed again at the Festa Major with a group of residents who later founded the "Fontmontina Comedy Company ".
